It's not Just A One Time Thing

Feb 10,2020

Don’t watch the news, don’t turn on your social media, don’t talk with your friends. Take this advice and you should be fine; stay in your bubble, use hope as your plan, bad things happen over there, I took a firearms lesson, I shot last year, I went to the gym I don’t’ need training my wife does. When the day comes that you are tested the wolf comes banging on your door, I wish you good luck. If you seriously want to train to protect yourself, your family then it's time to train. Training is not something you just do then you are done. Training to protect yourself is a journey. Firearms skills are perishable the less you train, the longer you go between training your proficiency will drop. But Mike, firearms training is like riding a bike, when I pick it back up, I am off and running in no time. I say yeah, but bikes don’t shoot back at you or try stealing your money and when you miss the petal you do not inadvertently put a round into the neighbor’s house or playground. After that discussion, I get well, how often I should train. My answer- every day. Can’t train every day, ok how about every other day. Can’t do that – then how about once a week. Mike ammo is expensive. Gotcha, dry fire trigger manipulation

is free, drawing from the holster is free, presenting the gun and acquiring sight alignment is free, working magazine changes is free, buy some dummy rounds and work remediation week dry fire. The options are endless. The moral of this story is to train. Train like your life depends on it. Because when the day comes, not if, you will be ready.
