
Situational Awareness

Situational awareness or SA is a mindset in which you are relaxed yet observant of your surroundings and conscious of what or who could be of assistance to you if a situation were to arise. There is a saying, “when it takes seconds the police are only minutes away. ”YOU ARE YOUR OWN FIRST RESPONDER. In this clinic, you will learn how to shift your thinking about what a safe environment is. You will learn how to see and evaluate your space in a new way. My goal is to shift your perspective from, “it will never happen to me” to, “it’s not a matter of IF it's WHEN”. There is a distinct difference between paranoid and prepared. Some topics that will be covered are statistics, verbal defense commands, body language, physiological response to stressors as well as tips on parking lots, running paths, stairwells, and fringe areas. You will gain insight and receive points pertinent to teenagers, college students, young professionals, and everyday life. This clinic is for everyone and anyone who wants to enhance their own awareness and improve their survivability in a potentially life-threatening or harmful position. This is a lecture-style class with time built in for questions and answers. You will leave here feeling more confident and prepared to protect yourself and your loved ones.
